As American Drum 'n' Bass pioneers, AK1200's tracks hark back to an era before producers went out on a limb trying to generate the most abrasive -- if not downright terrifying -- sounds possible. These tracks contain more than their share of Bukem-style ambiance, yet instead of aiming straight for the chill room crowd they inject the sweetness with a fair bit of Jump-Up ruffness. Bouncy, rolling breaks, caterwauling synths and tried-and-true analog basslines create a positive, dancefloor-friendly atmosphere. |
