San Francisco band's sound revolves primarily around dueling vocalists Jim Brunberg and Jeff Pehrson, whose tightly knit harmonies are an instrument unto themselves and serve as a reference point to influences like the Everly Brothers, Loggins and Messina, England Dan and John Ford Coley, etc. The addition of "proper" instruments such as banjo, Hammond B-3 organ and harmonica add to the band's rootsy, folky feel and punctuate the whimsical, full-of-sly-winks attitude of the lyrics. |
