With a few full-length releases under their belt, Garden Variety continue to burst with vitality and energy. Empowered by detonating drumming and the irate, frenzied vocals of Anthony Roman, Garden Variety take their "Emo" moniker and infuse it with so much anger and sonic musculature that Jimmy Eat World can't help but break into tears (again). Marked by brusque time changes and increasingly apt, somewhat lean guitar playing, Garden Variety are still the Bay City Rollers compared to Unwound in terms of raw force, but the punches they pull are growing increasingly more powerful. |
