  Jet By Day   Biography
Music by the recording artist Jet By Day Jet By Day formed in Athens, Georgia in 1997, while its members, Bo Wamsley, David Matysiak and Tom Naumann, were all students at the University of Georgia. The band's first shows were at house parties thrown by their college friends, but once Jet By Day got the taste of playing live, they threw themselves into it with gusto, hitting most of the underground clubs throughout the state. Less than two years later, Wamsley opted out of the band to concentrate on his studies, and was replaced by Amy Burmeister. The seven-song EP, Autumn Means It's All Downhill, was released by the band and was quickly followed by a self-titled four-song EP. In 2000, the band added guitarist Mason Brown to their fold. Mason's guitar helped round out the band's sound, which was quickly becoming a fast favorite among those lucky enough to see the band perform around the South. In 2001, Jet By Day started recording their first album and tapped Bob Weston of Shellac to produce. The Feedback That Distracts Us was a favorite at college radio and attracted the interest of the folks at Kindercore, who tapped the band to record their second album. Cascadia was released in 2003, and found the band with a sharper, more focused sound that fully meshed together the band's noisy, sonic flurry of influences. Just as the band was set to tour for the album, Burmeister decided to leave to form the Black Kites. In 2005, Jet By Day released The Vulture on the Future Farmer label.
