Three strong-willed musicians from very different backgrounds come together in this not-for-the-faint-hearted improv outfit. Whether noisy and percussive or tranced-out and psychedelic, Keiji Haino's guitar sets the tone, while drummer Rashied Ali's and bassist Bill Laswell's respective backgrounds in Free Jazz and Dub/Funk are firmly in evidence. Crossed-up communication wires lead to some lengthy meandering, but they do have their moments. |
