Ulysses is another outlet for the pop-tastic songwriting skills of Robert Schneider. The group was formed in 2003 in Kentucky, where Schneider had relocated after taking a break from his long-running band, the Apples in Stereo. There he recruited members of the group Big Fresh and came up with Ulysses. While Schneider's voice makes the tunes seem somewhat familiar, the approach here is less baroque pop and more chunky indie rock. |
