This L.A. Power Pop band sounds like they're from Minneapolis. Maybe it's the insurgent, unbridled passion of the song lyrics and melodies reminiscent of the Replacements and Husker Du. Or maybe it's the song arrangements that go above and beyond the basic verse-chorus-verse formula. Although Stickfigure boast past band members from Cracker, the Del Lords, and currently include Mike Mesaros of the Smithereens -- as well as Jack McDowell, former Major League ball player-- their sound is new and fresh, evincing solid chemistry.
