Grading

Gradings conform to the accepted standards laid down by Record Collector Magazine but we do not use the "mint" grade (although many of our records graded EX are in fact mint). Our records graded EX are nice clean copies - scratch free and with clean covers. We use the NEX grade to signify near excellent condition - items that are above VG but just fall short of an EX grading. Our items graded VG are true VG and not the trashed VG that so many "dealers" send out! We deal in so many records that we don't have time to play everything and so we buy and sell mainly on a visual basis. In any event all items are backed by an unconditional guarantee. All 45s graded VG or under have been played to ensure that they are playable and produce a sound appropriate to the grading. We grade the cover first and the vinyl second. Where there is only one grade then the record does not have a picture cover. Feel free to contact us about any item prior to purchase. We are collectors too and are well aware of the disappointment of an underwhelming package! Fortunately, we get it right 99% of the time (check our GEMM ratings) but there are times when we are very busy and mistakes are made and, in that case, we want to put things right.
