Grading

Forthpalm Limited grading policy: Most sellers have their own grading system - we try & stick with the known grades as much as possible. The majority of our older stock (over 15 years) should be regarded as being from "G:good" to "VG+:very good plus" which shows in our VERY LOW prices, some of these tracks may have been played but some may never have seen a turntable! Newer releases are mostly brand new and graded either by EX (excellent) M (mint) or indeed NEW (brand new - never played). Older sleeves may have a small label on the cover, but in general the vinyl will not be badly marked and as such should be considered in our view to be VG+. The odd exception will be where the vinyl has some excessive surface marks but nothing which would stop the item being played, for this we would grade the item "VG". We mainly find that the customer wants a low priced, hard to get product, which at the end of the day will play :-) You can always state your wishes or limitations along with your order (eg. `please no cover damage` or `record must be 'VG' but not too bothered about the cover`) etc. NEW - brand new item never been played at all. EX - new but may have had a couple of plays in the office. VG+ - very good plus, the majority of the older records we sell fall under this grade. Vinyl: Possibly new but most likely to have been played a few times. May have some surface marks and crackle due to the age but most likely not. Cover: Some normal used cover wear due to age of track and possibility of a sleeve 'id' sticker (our stock comes from various collections). The vast majority of customers want the actual record and so we do not grade the cover. For cd's a VG+ rating would mean that the cd is perfect but perhaps the jewel case has some markings or scuffs. A standard VG rating would be considered for a cd that can be played without skips or jumps but the surface may have some marks or scratches. Returns

LOST ORDER IN THE POST: We obtain a "proof of posting" for ALL of our shipments. If an order goes missing we will do all we can to locate the parcel but unless you have chosen the "insured" option for shipping, this can be a pretty impossible task. If you make a claim that a parcel has never arrived and have not chosen "insured" post we will try and make a claim against the post office here in the UK (since we have proof of posting") but if they decline a refund then sadly so do we. INSURED IS ALWAYS BEST FOR ITEMS OVER 25 UK Pounds! FAULTY ITEMS: We will only accept back your purchase if the item is faulty. You will have to pay for the return shipping and we would advise you to get a "proof of posting" or send it by "recorded mail" as refunds will not be given otherwise. All of our vinyl is cleaned & checked before being shipped but sometimes "skips" or "jumps" on vinyl cannot be seen visually and so there maybe an odd occasion when titles are shipped with these faults unbeknown to ourselves. If we accept a returned item which is not faulty, the buyer pays for all return shipping and packing costs as well as the original shipping fee.
