Welcome to REDCOAT RECORDS

I spent some time in London during my vacation and went searching for vinyl for my own collection. I looked from Camden Town to Croydon, from Notting Hill to Islington and even in Soho. What I found in all those places was that the shops were charging in Pounds what we list for the same number of dollars here in the States. With $2 to the pound, that was twice as much as I was expecting to pay. So the only buys I made were at boot sales and charity shops. I know that record shops have to cover their rent and that boot sellers and charity shops have an advantage over them in that respect. But a lot of these stores also sell on-line. So there is the shop mark-up plus the Shipping & Handling charge when ordering off the web - a double whammy!
Most dealers are fair with their S & H charges but that shop surcharge was just too much for me.
And we all know that UK LP covers are pretty thin and bendy compared with the good old thicker American versions for the same LPs.
