Welcome to MALOCA QUERIDA

Hello! Salut! !Hola! Tadaima minasan!

Whenever you are from and whatever your taste in music may be, Maloca Querida may have just what you need - be it bossa nova first issues, pop-rock promo CDs, big band 78 RPMs, official cassettes by famous artistes from all over the world...

Maloca Querida is an informal record outlet managed by one of Brazil's most efficient, eclectic and eccentric songwriters/music researchers/journalists of the last 20 years - that's me, Ayrton Mugnaini Jr. You may already know me from my collaborations for websites such as All Over The World (dedicated to Francoise Hardy, www.all-over-the-world.com), The Rokes (a 1960s Anglo-Italian band of repute; this web site is by their bass player, Bobby Posner, www.bposner.freeserve.co.uk), The Tapestry Of Delights (www.borderlinebooks.com) Senhor F (www.senhorf.com.br , a Brazilian website dedicated to 1960s pop and beyond) and the Kinks Preservation Society (www.kinks.it.rit.edu - you'll find me at their discussion digest and on some of their tribute records with my Kink kover versions). Besides, I've written the first book in Portuguese about UK band Queen and the first encyclopedia on Brazilian rural music. So much to tell about nearly 30 years' worth of work - but I'd rather you speak of me as you find! (Yes, you know this line from that Rolling Stones compilation.)

Having worked as a seller at Grilo Falante (one of the first modern Brazilian second-hand record shops) in the early 1980s, in 2002 I started my own business - and, even if I say so myself, I'm doing rather fine, concentrating on quality rather than quantity and trying to meet all needs rather than specialising in any style - as Billy Preston once sang, everybody likes some kind of music...

Hope I can be helpful to you - drop by when you're around!

Cheerio,

Ayrton
