| | Clint West (Real name Maurice Guillory) was born at Vidrine, Louisiana on 11-August-1938. Completing high school, he attended business school and found a position as a bookeeper for an insurance firm, but due to his constant tapping with a pencil (with the music on the radio) his boss let him go.The first band that he played with was Red Smiley and The Veltones out of Palmetto, then two years later, he was with The Rollercoasters out of Monroe.Next, Clint formed The Boogie Kings until 1965 after a court battle with the "original" Boogie Kings. The band name was changed to The Fabulous Kings and continued recording.
This copy is on James Floyd Soileau's Jin imprint out of Ville Platt. This is an ORIGINAL copy NOT a re-issue as often has been done by the label. The interesting thing is that this copy is a RED Jin label
(unlike the 'normal' blue-label issues from the period)
Labels are clean. Vinyl has scuffing and marks, but plays very well through.Another classic from South Louisiana! | |
